26ºC Yesterday

Avencas Beach, Parede

This is the hottest and driest winter in the last eighty years, it doesn't rain since November. Forest fires take place every day, crops are lost and there's no food for cattle on the fields.

4pm update: There's a thunderstorm now... and it's raining! :-)

cela fait rever, cette plage, ce temps, mais je me demande si l'eau n'est pas encore trop froide ?

The temperature sounds nice, but having no rain is not so nice. Hope you'll have a wet spring.

I wish I could send you some of our rain!! It's rained steadily in Seattle for the past 48 hours! The beach does look lovely, no rain is definitely not good! Hope you have a good -- rainy weekend, JM!

Looks like the weather is great in Lisbon!
In Athens, we got a bit of sun yesterday, and a bit more today, after four days of cold and snow!!
I love the photo!!
Sorry to hear about the problems due tho the non-existing rainfall...

@Olivier: The water is not as cold as it should be this time of the year, but still too cold for me anyway! :-)

That sounds like summer to me. We had a very windy day yesterday, and not very warm at all.

You are right, technically is still winter, but here we usually count on primavera a mare (spring at sea) which usually comes a month earlier than March 21.

Your winter is like summer! Lovely.

I meant lovely pic - not lovely that it's so hot and so destructive to nature and crops...

Nice shot. . .not so nice weather. Drought and forest fires are very troubling.

Global warming is going to create all kinds of weather anomalies. And faster than we thought. Just saw some photos of the ice caps and they're melting away.

We've had a warm winter also and now we're 20-30 degrees warmer than usual.

But, of course, those who have made global warming a creedal thing disagree. A senator from Oklahoma has just published a book claiming global warming is a "hoax," 'cause only God can change the climate and he quotes some obscure verse in the Hebrew bible. This moron helps write laws for the U.S.

And we all know Al Gore invented global warming just so he could sell books and get rich! :-)))

@Lowell: You should watch BBC's Frozen Planet series. Apart from an amazing cinematography, it's very scary! And it's also very scary how some retarded people can be in power!

Well, I know it's not natural and I shouldn't envy you this warm winter, but....here's we could do with a bit warmer weather actually!

This is happening all around the world. Here, in Brazil, we had a dry summer and now there are torrential rains... It´s really bad for crops!

We have had no winter here in Toronto either and are expecting temps in the low 20s˚C on the weekend. So strange everywhere!

Se está chovendo é muito bom, é preocupante a falta de chuva. Linda praia.

Crazy weather this winter.

The Australian climate has swung between droughts and floods for millennia -- this year its floods. Perhaps Portugal is like that too. You have to be very patient to be a farmer.

Love the look of that beach and the lovely way you have framed it.

Ah, hopefully more Spring rains are ahead! The wooden railing is a great lead-in to the beach scene:)
