We just returned from 3 weeks in Asia (Bhutan, Bangkok and Cambodia) and I have just now caught up with your posts during out absence. Great photos, as usual. Your tribute to Tibet is especially poignant.
Last evening Julie and I had dinner at her mother's, and her mother commented upon about her set of dishes, which she saw in a store and instantly admired them so much she felt compelled to purchase them. We looked on the bottom, and they said "Made in Portugal." I commented how that made sense, in view the mastery of ceramics at times displayed on your website.
and lots of them JM, what an amazing image. I think it must have been feeding time I see a few open mouths there! btw I would love to see where you write your blog JM.
Oh, a lot of colorful Koi indeed! And big mouths as well!! Reminds me of my kids when they come to dinner!!! Thanks for the smiles, JM!! Have a lovely evening!
I have only seen Koi, perhaps larger than these, in the moat around the Emperor's Palace in Tokyo. Some of those were bigger around than my leg. Massive fish.
They would go after food dropped in the moat, like these are. A mess of fish for sure.
Someone said in the comments above they would love to see where you write your posts at or from?
I think that would be a revelation for lots of people. I know mine are seldom done on the spot but I never take a lot of time working on them either. I try to write about things I know about and there is no research really required.
Anyway, I would certainly enjoy reading that post if you ever do one.

An amazing mass of fishes for a wonderful image
Such vibrant colors. If you threw some bread in amongst them you'd see a frenzy like WWIII! These are very expensive, from what I've heard.
Here, I would have claustrophobia.

Koi are fascinating fish, aren't they? They seem able to function with very little personal space between them.
