Real People

Mouraria, Lisbon

Camilla Watson is a British photographer who fell in love with Lisbon, where she's living for four years. One of her latest projects is to photograph the inhabitants of this very old neighbourhood and print the shots onto the walls of the streets where they live.

What a fantastic idea...and I can see that the neighborhood and the people have a lot of "character"! How does one print pictures on the wall like that?

Great shots JM! And I love this project, what a fantastic idea. I could see this being done in some of the barrios around Tucson. Gives me ideas...

@Lowell: I have no idea, I asked myself the same question when I saw it, but it's so cool!

I wonder how the people (and their neighbours) feel about this, Jose? I like the style of photograph involved and that she endeavours to colour code them with the walls on which they appear. I guess this is a form of mural, or even street-art.

I was wondering how they were printed too. Not only are these beautiful and the idea terrific your photos are also a lovely execution to show the artwork in situ to great advantage ... wonderful shots.

Yes, the rhinos at our zoo are African.

Great shots, both yours and Camilla's. I'm also curious how she prints them. I wonder if it's a large scale print transfer, and I wonder how they weather. Have they been up long? And I would suppose that the locals enjoy seeing themselves and their neighbors as wall art?
