Carcavelos Beach
Lifeguards used to start working on June 1st. Maybe because of global warming, beaches get crowded earlier every year and the beach season officially starts on May 1st now. However, this spring has been so dull, with strong winds, cloudy skies and rain, that there's no one to watch after. That's why the 'Baywatch guys' spent the day hanging out on the sea promenade with boring expressions on their faces. :-)

Ever seen the US TV show Bay Watch? A couple of those gals would brighten some faces.
Nice, I like the rugged coastline.
@Birdman: As long as Pamela Anderson is NOT included in the cast, please! LOL!
They should buy cameras and take up photography. This is a beautiful beach shot. No people... the way I like it!
Even though a boring day... Look at the scenery they have!
Have a fab weekend

ha ha. no babes to watch. :)
No baywatchers here either yet, as the temperatures didn't go over 20 degrees so far. I think thy start on june 1st as well here
You said it, a truly dull spring...
But your pic is very nice, I like the flag on the forefront and the fortress sort of disguised on the side...
God bless you!

That's frustrating, waiting for the weather gods to change their mind!
The scenery is beautiful, though, I imagine the waves are quite strong, judging from the foam crowns.
Our 'bay watchers' are in the winding down stages now JM as we head into winter, now is when you guys will pay me back for showing all the blue skies and beaches here in Perth haha!.
Well, no broads maybe, but still lots of beauty for the rest of us!! Gorgeous beach and great captures as always, JM! Enjoy your weekend!

By the looks of the yellow flag it must have been really windy. Great shot.
There is no such thing as a bad day at the beach.
I wish my country had done like yours in moving the beach season earlier. One poor boy drowned at a Mediterranean beach one day before the official lifeguard season.
Como me gusta la costa, gracias.
Un saludo.
Portugal tiene una costa muy bonita.
Beautiful beach scene. All in all I'd rather have a bored lifeguard than one who's practicing his CPR on a human body!
Always glad to have lifeguards patrolling the beaches, Jose. Here in Australia, surf lifesaving clubs and lifeguards are an essential part of our swimming season and nobody would seriously think of swimming in unguarded beaches.
I agree with Dave; no bad day at the beach.
