You are right, large flocks of Galahs, Corellas and Sulphur -crested Cockatoos can do great damage to newly sown grain crops as well as crops before harvest.
This looks familiar from the videos I used when teaching about Columbus! One of them shows Portuguese sailors training on a large sailing ship, but I think it was different than this one.

Well, I really can't complain about Seattle weather today -- it's gorgeous, mild and clear blue skies, but I'd still love to be on the water! Your photos are the next best thing to being there! Tall ships are amazing sights. They are visiting southeast Connecticut sometime soon, but unfortunately, I don't think I will be able to see them this year.
