One of your fine compositions...'tis a beautiful church and the ceiling is extraordinary, but do the people attend and support this church or is it empty most of the time?
Re your question on Cedar Key: My initial reactions was "Yes, that's a real bird." Upon further reflection, however, I have to say I'm not sure. I've an inkling in the back on my mind that says it may be a sculpture...I shall check the next time we go over there, which may be in a couple of weeks!
@Lowell: Although the Catholic Church is loosing more and more people, I believe it gets crowded on mass times (elderly mainly), which might happen a couple of times a day.

A beautiful church and ceiling but the patterned cobble stones put the icing on the cake for me.
Beautiful church and what a great plaza in front of it.
I have to check my pictures, but this lovely square it is not changed much in almost twenty years...
@Arija:
It's the typical Portuguese pavement: limestone and basalt cubes.
The ceiling is a wonderment JM. What a lovely place to sit and relax JM
Such a beautiful church and the ceiling is magnificent! I, too, love the patterned walkway! Terrific capture as always, JM!

White church is really beautiful and special. And the pavement is gorgeous.
Regards.
Nossa, mas parece Rio de Janeiro... por um instante pensei... :)))
Beauty!
The perfect place for an after work drink. And then if you need silence, just go and look at that ceiling...
The church is spectular and the outside is as beautiful as the ceiling.
Your "typical" pavements are wonderful. I think I would have a hard time deciding whether to look up or down as I walked.
Beautiful square and so peaceful!

Gorgeous church, but that pebble mosaic has me crying for more.
I remember this church, which I found by chance, being too early for a train at Cais do Sodré. Went in for a short and (cool) moment! :-)
Perfect composition. I love those pavers. :)
Breathtaking, JM. There is so much to see here, most of it black and white. The fine church, the obelisk, the patterned stonework, etc.
The whole are looks lovely. You live in such a beautiful city.
It's jut lovely, inside and out.
It looks warm and pleasant.
Such a beautiful church and lovely plaza in front of it... I really need to visit Lisbon again, I've last been to your city when I was a kid.
There aren't a lot of BIG cities I'd like to visit, but this is one of them!
