The weather in September and October is usually lovely. Actually it's the perfect time to enjoy the beach as the summer crowds are over. Not this year, it seems, except for surfers, of course. They never give up! :-)
A magnificent photograph. Very well composed! Frightening! Surfers are a special breed and they're all crazy! When we get a hurricane they rush to the beaches to ride the waves, knowing full well the undertow can carry them all the way to Portugal!
Hi again! I read your comment on Ocala DP this morning but had no idea what you were referring to...then I saw the news stories and laughed out loud. He's dumber than a doorknob!
Wow there is a lot of surf there. Our August, September and into October is usually our summer here. We have been having lovely weather.
Mt. Baker is over 10thousand feet and is ALWAYS covered in snow as are all the tall mts in the Cascade range. . We hiked Baker in August and I have pictures in the snow and we were only at the 5000 ft. level. Sorry I cannot change that into meters without guidelines. I will learn. MB

Rather them than me if you are getting the high winds we are! Diane
l'automne fait sortir les surfeurs ;)) c'est vrai que la plage est a eux
Surfing apparently is an addictive activity! The weather looks terrific for them!
The stormy sky's are really nice, you can see the rain falling.

It makes me think of the golfers here. The extremely high heat in the summer doesn't slow them down. I'd stay out of that churning water.
wow! some good waves!
What a terrific capture, JM! Love the stormy skies and the big waves and those guys do look like they're having fun!!

Ahh mas a temperatura da água ainda deve estar excelente! :)

It looks like a gorgeous day at the beach - I love ocean storms!
I once watched a couple of surfers on the Oregon beach, full wet suits, storm approaching, SNOW on the beach. You're right - they never give up!
Stormy autumn weather here too! I love the stormy light you've captured though.
Nothing stops a surfer!
Not the best weather for sunbathing, but great for photos! :)

It's not to cold to surf now, with this weather? We have bad weahter here too, but the photo is beautiful, with all those waves.
what a lovely image. the angry sky and the surfers make for a beautiful composition.
I know why: I am just taking a vacation now...
Very nice shot! I don't think I'd even want to go wading in that surf.
Surfers are nuts! Absolutely nuts!
Our skies where like that but no good looking surfers to be found here.
Such a familiar scene JM, it doesn't matter what the weather's like here you will find the hardy surfers out there. Beautiful stormy image.
Wow! I might be brave enough to get my toes wet but that's all.
Just as our weather is getting gloriously warm at last.
Surfers never give up.
I love the dramatic weather in this shot. And the people still in the water. :)
