Mouraria district, Lisbon
After the conquest of Lisbon to the Moors (Mouros) in the 12th century, they have been confined to this area, hence the name 'Mouraria'. Today, as many of its inhabitants are immigrants from all over the world, this is the most multicultural district in the city.

Lindissima foto, mãe e filho caminhando, sentimento de romantismo e nostalgia, e adorei a rua de pedras!
Vc é um artista querido JM, parabéns!

This is obviously a very old district to have such narrow streets.
cela fait penser aux vieux quartiers de ville du sud ouest de la France
I love these old narrow streets.
I like how brightly colored their clothes are. I also love those pink walls!
beautiful scene.
Super image JM, what a colourful splash the duo make in this narrow cobbled street.
What a great capture, JM!! Love your composition, the pink buildings and that narrow, cobblestone street. Perfect!! Hope your week is going well!
Fabulous shot!
Wonderful shot! A perfect mix of contrasts. I suppose this street was just wide enough for a cart and donkey or horse. Would a vehicle like a Smart car be alowed to drive here?
What an absolutely gorgeous shot!
I love the splash of color against the pinkish buildings and dark, dirty cobblestones. Looks narrow, cramped and uninviting, however. I'd guess most of the immigrants are quite poor.
Yes, it is a gorgeous shot and so well illustrates the ambiance of the district.
Their bright clothing really stands out!
Outstanding photograph. I love the colors.
I like to walk in narrow streets, and to smell food and listen to people talking, playing music and just imagan what they are talking/singing about, without understanding anything of the language.
Nice details and nice to see mother and child also in your image.
What a pretty part of town.
The fresh paint of the building on the right, and the colorful clothing is in real contrast to the age of this street. Love the way you have told that story with this image!
Very narrow balconies up there...
