It is a beautiful sky and a beautiful photograph. I get depressed when I see how many factories in North America and Europe are being turned into apartments or condominiums. We need more factories and jobs!
Fantastic JM, I like the way you've taken the shot and I like that they left it for you do take it!! We have an arch at the top of St. George's Terrace that is all that's left of the old army barracks, but I'm so happy they left the arch!

Love this point of view!
Outstanding preservation of the industrial era. I think this is so important!
the smokestack is really quite beautiful. at least you make it so.
I'm with Sharon, love your composition, JM! Wonderful capture! Hope you have a great weekend!
I like the way the modern meet old.
I'm so glad that they saved it!
Industries seem to be giving way to service oriented professions.
What a great way of blending the old and the new together.
What a great composition and contraposition...I wonder if any idiots try to climb up that stack? Look like nice modern apartments behind it!
Nice perspective. I'm guessing the strapping was added to stabilize the tower?
very nice photo, nice to see such an interesting chimney being kept around!

That's a big stack.
What a wonderful combination of old and new ... white and brick ... it's awesome, and I'm so glad it has been preserved.
Love the contrast between old and new. Great composition JM!
A perfect mix of old and new!
Fortunately a property developer hasn't got their hands on it yet.

Smokestacks are a popular part to keep. I guess they don't take up much room and have a monumental feel about them.
Yes, I agree - glad some of the past is kept to give context to the present and to inform the future.
