That first photo especially, with the dog's mouth, the body armor, and the poster, is very scary. What is our world coming to? I don't have a lot of hope for the new year starting today.
Still, thanks for the dramatic photos and coverage, JM. Good luck to you all.
Dramatic captures for the day, JM, and a little frightening at the same time! What is our world coming to??? Or do I even want to know???? Take care and have a good week!
I noticed the movie poster before I took in the whole shot. This series looks like an unreal exercise in hostility and threat, more like a movie set than reality. Even moreso when contrasted with the young monk you're using as your profile photo. Chilling!
It is really scary to see the dogs with bared teeth and men with guns standing against the people that the banks and government were formed to serve. This wild and crazy ride that the world in on, no fault of 99% of the people that are caught up in it has got to find a usable, and sensible solution. I applaud the people of Portugal for standing up and being heard.
Great shots. That dog in the first one is scary! It's a stroke of genius and irony to have the soldier next to the True Justice poster in the top shot.
First shot is just totally amazing. The dog, the movie poster, the posture of the policeman - everything contributes to a very powerful image. The others showing all the photographers definitely is a commentary on the times.

IMF itself is scary name to the 3rd world, now I know why !
True Justice?
des photos impressionnantes , superbe reportage. j'aime beaucoup la derniere avec tous les journalistes
In case you haven't noticed, it's a bad movie poster starring Steven Seagal on a billboard, behind the policeman on the top shot! :-)))
I noticed the poster! Fearsome dogs and futuristic-looking cops. I guess the IMF needs all the protection it can get.
Totally not friendly !
That movie poster adds to the scary scene.
That dog is the first picture looks like he means business!
oh my! intimidating!

JM these are amazing shots documenting troubled times, nice work indeed!

Over here, Sept. 26th general strike is planned.
Impressive work on your site. Please have a good Tuesday.
daily athens photo
Powerful photos. Scary. I don't think I would want to be close enough to get the shot.

Momento histórico, bem retratado.
The dog's snarl in the first photo chills my blood, but the spacing and symmetry in the monochrome middle photo makes it an award winner!!!
I agree with Dina about that first photo. Such a strong image. I like the b&w shot at the end too.
great series of photos. is this taken during a demonstration?

Excellent first pic with the true justice poster ! They really look like acting in a movie !
That is a friendly looking dog.
I like your style and close up documentary.
Important, but be careful, ok?
I don't think you would ever see that in the US (unless Romney is elected). The top photo is brilliant. Nice luck with the poster.

Those dogs really mean business!
That's one angry dog in that first photo.
