Lisbon & Estoril Film Festival

Me and my friends, with whom I'm working with on the Inside Out Project, have enjoyed JR's movie so very much (check previous post) that we went to see it again, this time at Casino Estoril where the film festival is also taking place.

Hotel Palácio

"During the Second World War, due to Portugal’s neutrality several royal families went into exile in Estoril, which became known as the 'Coast of Kings'. The Hotel Palácio (built 1930) was the chosen home of numerous members of European royalty and was also the haunt of British and German spies, who could often be found in its bar. Later, these stories of intrigue and espionage inspired famous novelists and filmmakers and the Hotel served as the set for the James Bond movie 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'." Santo António Church at Estoril
It was destroyed by the earthquake in 1755 and rebuilt three years later.
(I don't know what's a screen (and speakers) doing there... Maybe it has something to do with the broadcasting of the Pope recent visit, so I hope it's temporary!)

Forte da Cruz

This Neo Medieval style construction (1895) is now the residence of the Ambassador of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Check these photos I've posted one year ago to see the whole building and its location.
