New Monster
Sea Promenade at Monte Estoril (previous post)
A (ugly) Art Deco hotel was torn down to give place to this (ugly) new building.
The small building on the left is the original and still in use Monte Estoril train station (1889).

Pier
Monte Estoril
Although it's nothing compared to January 6, the ocean is still wild. We've had yellow and orange alerts on the coast every day since then.

"ArteMar" Project
A large number of ugly installations, basically made of trash caught in the ocean, can be found on the Sea Promenade between Cascais and Estoril. They are especially ugly when we see them on a grey day in the middle of June! The weather has been great the last couple of days, but temperatures will be dropping again and clouds are expected next week. It might be the price we are paying for the total disrespect for the elements by the humankind.
Below it's another installation still in progress:

Wave Barrier
Sea Promenade at Monte Estoril
It looked much nicer before these rocks have been placed there, but the sea promenade has been destroyed winter after winter in recent years, so...
The sea's advance is a major problem on Portugal's coastline.
