Erosion really? Not just higher water levels? Because if it really is erosion, then that's scary. Just a month…

Well,Not doubting the erosion factor --that looks really very bad but being the non ocean girl...could it be at different levels of the tide?
A nice shot of something not very nice that's happening!

Wow, that's a very dramatic contrast!

You live in a great part of the world. The one time I went to Lisbon I stayed with a friend who was living in Cascais at the time.

Wait, wait! Things are bad around the globe but not that much... YET! Don't panic! :-)
The thing is: the 1st photo shows the erosion made by sea water in winter or when the tides are crazy like they have been this month (2nd photo).
Sorry if I made you think sea level was so much higher... That was not my intention... :-)
Anyway, as I walk almost everyday by the seashore and know some parts of this coast pretty well, I can garatee you that after every winter I notice new rocks have fallen from the cliffs due to stormy tides!... and that, yes, can be scary when you think what it will be from now on... specially when I hear that another huge iceberg is melting!

Thank you all for your comments.

It amazing how powerful the ocean really is.

The sea level changes here too over the year - at the moment the tides are very low and the reef is exposed at low tide, but in the monsoon time the tides are very high and wash the sand away.
