Beautiful. Churches provide such amazing outlets for fine architecture. I just took my 3 yr old son to a huge cathederal in NYC and he was blown away by the arches and carvings, much like this pic. I am also reading Ken Follet's book The Pillars of the Earth right now - a wonderful novel about people who build the first cathederals in the UK. Have a good day!
Astounding, isn't it? Compare this with some of the buildings that are lauded today. The really sad thing is that the stonemason skills necessary to create this has been lost to the world.

Beautiful details in this photograph. I thought it was in France and then see it is in Portugal.
Very lovely! It looks like it could be a window on a castle.
Nice shot. I like the sharp contrast between the black of the glass and the light coloured stone.
I love the ornate simplicity of this.
Texture, just texture and symmetry.
What gorgeous architecture JM...funny, I did a church today too, but mine is a 360 difference compared to yours!

Very nice architecture!
Wonderful detail!!
The details are fabulous. Definitely worth enlarging.
I looked at this for a long time, then looked at your title. A church! I wouldn't have guessed it. You caught all that detail very crisply.
This "almost black and white" makes the architectural details stand out.
I am glad you enjoyed Françoise Hardy!! ;~))
perfect composition!
magnificent...
