Theme day: Circles/Spheres

Private house, Oeiras downtown.
Portuguese writer Teixeira de Pascoaes (1887-1952) by Francisco Simões, at the Poets Park, Oeiras.
They are twenty poets, each one has his/hers own different yard in the park. Florbela Espanca can be seen on this post.

And how many balls does each poet have around him? ;-) just joking!

I love the swirly decor on the wall in front of the house!

I'm impressed with how much you honor your poets. I wish we had a little more of that here! Lovely park.

Wonderful architecture in your opening pic!

I love the idea of a poet's park. I wish we had one. Your photo fits the theme beautifully.

Great choices--it's hard to find spheres!

I love that second picture - what is the significance of the spheres, I wonder?

I love both photographs. The second with all those balls is fabulous - almost funny as so many globes for today's theme. Hooray for poets.

I love to see poets honoured like this.

You managed to get circles AND spheres in your post! (Can you answer Saretta's question?)

Saretta, he is the only one having spheres (and circles), maybe because he wrote 'The Universe man' (1940), but that's just my hunch! :-) All the others (19) have very different yards inside the park. I have to show a few more...

Great photos, JM! I especially love the poets park, but what do the balls represent?

Hi JM - well caught. I didn't even think of the Theme Day - I miss them all the time!!!

Are the poet's balls symbolic of something or just decoration???

very, very clever selections. the colors of the house are indeed lovely. My favorite is the path of stone spheres...it seems to make the statue very solid

Susie and Jules, the answer is above, or better saying, my humble interpretation! lol!

Beautiful choice for Theme Day and I think you covered circles/spheres in a wonderful way.
Each poet has their own work of art. That's amazing.
