M

This was a fantastic building from the 50s housing a nice restaurant. Although its circular shape has been kept, it is now an uncharacteristic structure where fast food is for sale!

dommage que cet ancien restaurant (architecture originale) soit devenu un fast-food ;o(
pity that this old restaurant (architecture) has become a fast-food ;o(

That is the nicest McD's I've ever seen and I agree with Olivier. I wish they would have used it for something better.

it is always shocking to me when the golden arches shows up in the strangest locations and buildings. It certainly does not fit a McDonald's location. I was so glad that the merchants in the Zocalo in Oaxaca banded together and prohibited McDonald's from opening on the Zocalo. They wanted to keep the quaint nature of the Zocalo as is. They forced McDonald's to open one street over.

My eye changed , I used not to pay attention to the architecture of the 50's now I enjoy it.
A very discreeeeet M!!

I agree with Olivier. Such a unique building should be the home for a unique culinary experience.

I can't believe those are the Mickey Dee arches on top! What a shame. But it does look kind of cool, anyway. Wonderful shot, JM!

Great shot! I too cannot believe they couldn't find a better occupant for that building.

Ah, I see what you mean. Nope, not nice at all. Though the building definitely is.

Although honestly, I don't think our many international franchise restaurants are good either, and I don't mean the food. Long discussion, never mind.

That's a chic McDonalds but I think it's a shame it's housed in this nice retro building. I fear one day every building will be sporting the yellow M. Except the Champs Elysees McD's. It's white! HA

I guess this is a sign of the advancement of modern culture. You don't sound too happy about it, at least that's good to hear.

Apologies from the U.S. McDonald's is our fault, although some give it credit.

The most unique McDonald's I have ever seen. Great architecture.

I guess its better than tearing the building down and building a cookie cutter fast food joint.

Those tell-tale golden arches peeking above the grand circular roof: just priceless.

It's a pity that there are a bit too many of the M's around. A McDonald here and there, why not, but not that many and not at the nicest places, please! (You find it also on the Champs Elysées, but the M is white - the yellow colour is not allowed!)

Cool looking architecture except the golden arches. Kind of sticks out there like a wart. Neat picture nonetheless.

Good Old McDonald's doesn't miss a beat, lol. A very attractive building. Thank you for dropping by our blog. One of two things will happen to the trees, A: They might be stacked and burned or B: they might be hauled away and chipped into mulch. Hopefully the last option will be the method of choice.

This made me smile. I live in one of those cities which is fighting the advance of fast food outlets. We have just one McDonalds. I do however think they have done a great job of fitting into heritage buildings with sensitivity in a number of places.

A bit of a shame, as many of your readers say. Until now, the best integrated McD's I had seen was in Freeport in Maine. Link to a photo of it (not mine).
