la dernière photo est superbe, la lune qui se repose sur le "Pillory". Bien vu le photographe. the last photograph is superb, the moon which relies on "Pillory". Seen well the photographer.
Hilda, the pillory is part of the historical district but it's not in the center of it.
Willow, it dates from the 18th century, when Oeiras started having an important role in History, with the settlement of Marquis of Pombal and Count of Oeiras (PM of King José I) family and the consequent 'birth' of the House of Oeiras.
Glad you all enjoyed the photo with the moon. I know it would look much better with a full moon, but I don't know if I will see the next one because weather is very unstable... Yesterday and today were the only sunshine days in 2009, so I had to take advantage on that! :-)

Beautiful photos. I love the way the one tower is piercing the moon.
This pillar is in the center of the historical district? Love how you caught the moon in the fourth picture. And yesterday's photo was awesome, JM!
Lovely. It looks ancient. How old is it?
Beautiful pictures and that last one with the moon is gorgeous!
the last one is the best ;)
I like the contrast of first photo and last one.
Incredible that you caught the moon that way.

The last photof the "lamppost" is a real treasure!
Thats and interesting monument. I have never seen one shaped like that before.
A pillar of society right there. Looks like you have your sun right back where it belongs! :)
