JM, Thank you for the comment on my site alerting me to the long response by Jessica to my comment on your site yesterday about Venetian glass. I have gone back to your yesterday's post to leave a response for her, and have left a comment on her Rome site.
My little story yesterday was not intended to malign Italian hospitality. I love Italy, as evidenced by the fact that I have been there 6 times and Julie and I are planning another trip back to Italy.
i have never seen the sky quite like this. it looks like you are up very high to see the change from day to night and the curvature of the light change. great capture. i put up a photo today of the bright Moon and Venus in the same photo from Friday night. It is funny that we both posted sky and planet shots to start off the week.

That is just too cool. What a great shot. You were at the right spot at the right time. Beautiful.

Great shot, were you on a plane?
What a miracle this world is. You've captured the breadth of it here in a single image.
allo la terre. Surprenante photo
Oh wow! Did you take that from a plane?
No, I was not on a plane, I took this shot from my balcony :-)
Great shot today.
Julie also posted a photo today of the moon on her Scottsdale Daily Photo site. It shows the moon aligned with Venus.
you are very lucky to be able capture this image
I love this. You really get that feeling of the last little light in the sky.

Same question as Jim, at first sight..
Second question... What were you doing on your balcony at this time ;~)))
Guau!!!!! Increíble. Momento poético.
Un beso desde México,
Amazing!
It looks like you took this photo in space!
Really beautiful shot! Great idea!
Cool and different kind of composition. Nice!
You have to be quick to catch this pretty painted sky and moon, the moment passes quickly.
Fantastic. We had the same slice of moon here two nights ago and it was perfectly in line with Venus.
Beautiful contrast.
And Hell's Mouth is awesome place.
Similer to Kinugawa river of Japan.
I can't imagine how you took this but it's a superb shot..just look at all those beautiful colours!
Amazing...how did you do that?
Lovely colour wash image.
