Remnants in the river

River Tagus estuary mouth, next to Lisbon. Enlarging the photo, Bugio Islet (Fortress/Lighthouse) can be seen in the backgroud (left).

a somewhat lonely, reflective photo. full of contemplation. I am going to your nature at home site next to check out your cactus blooms. I am glad you are enjoying the cactus on my site as I know how much you love cactus.

Peaceful but mysterious photo!

And yes, I saw that lighthouse.

I alway wonder about old piling in the water and wonder what life was like before.
I am glad you are having warm weather--it is unseasonably cool here. I need some sunshine. MB

This is a very intriguing photo. I did enlarge it to get a better look at the lighthouse.

Makes a very moody picture. The shimmering water is lovely.

You've captured it so that the pilings look as if they are leading us toward the lighthouse. Beautiful, JM.

I agree with Julie on the contemplative mood, which adds to the beauty of the shimmering water.

Love the light. Remnants is a good title. Looks like some places on Florida's coasts after a hurricane!

Olá JM!
Lindo post!Essa foto está tão especial e portanto peço sua autorização meu amigo, aqui deixarei agora algumas palavras ( que nem me atrevo dizer uma poesia)de minha autoria ou da adolescente que fui un dia!

REVIVENDO
Pensei que poderia te esquecer
Pensei que poderia viver
Pensei que seu carinho de nada valia
Pensei sem você, pensei sem saber.
Pensei ser tão fácil
Em uma forma de um desabafo
Pensei que poderia
Pensei resistir, não consegui
Pensei livrar-me de sua imagem
Não passou de miragem
Pensei, não pude conter
Pensei novamente em você (1979)

Kind Regards
Léia :-)

I thought it was a sculpture that only emerged when the tide went out (they had one like that on Crosby beach near Liverpool). Great photo JM :)

Not everyone has a fortress lurking in the background! ;) Water in all shapes and modes is always interesting.

It looks like you had a nice, quiet moment at the river, JM. Have a good weekend.

great shot, the wood sticking out leads us right to the lighthouse.

Love how you used the reflecting sunshine on the water to create the shimmer.

Interesting photo - it looks like there is some sort of whirlpool thing going on in the forefront. Nice shot.
