Lampranthus is a genus of south african succulents pretty common around here, whose flowers close at night; these shots were taken around 5pm when petals start moving

These look rather like the thistle I posted a few days ago, but these are so much prettier. What wonderful color. I don't think I've seen these before; you're fortunate to have them where you live.
