When I saw the title of your post I tried to imagine what type of staircase it would be ... I would never have imagined something as ornate as this as an outdoor staircase!
You have such a great eye for composition...the staircase is perfect for leading us into the scene and into the beautiful building across the way...lovely muted colors, too.
I love the tiles in Portugal. I wish more buildings in the world had integrated tiles into them as they really add a special style. I am in Morocco now and am enjoying some tiles that are on some of the buildings. I am utilizing your tips on bargaining on absolutely everything. I am going out in a few minutes to take some more photos. People in Morocco are very friendly and it seems very safe so we can walk everywhere, which is great. Thanks for your comments regarding the Chihuly! I thought you would enjoy Chihuly and cactus.

The staircase is the most ornate I've ever seen.
