We really should have a theme day for benches because there are so many unique and different ones around the world, such as this one.

I'm not sure if I understand the sign well - does alma mean soul?
Lovely bench and so peaceful, but I'm afraid not the most comfortable:)

A quintessentially Portugese bench, accented with blue tile.

Re your comment on my site in response to my comment on yours yesterday, I am ashamed that I have forgotten why the Republican party has an elephant for a logo. I should know, as I have a B.A. and Master's degree in political science.

What is even more peculiar is that the logo of the Democratic party is a donkey.

I think both logos perhaps date from some political cartoons in the late 1800's, but when I have some free time (which is not today) I will check out the question.

Too bad the two sweet hearts sitting on that bench have to be separated but they still can hold hands!!!

Very nice and I think has the ring of truth.

I'd imagine this bench is a place to sit and think such profound thoughts!

Oh! It is amazing! When I was sitting there I would wonder who was there years ago:) It makes that you start to think about the past! Great shot!
