Thanks for the luncheon invitation JM. What shall we order (besides wine?)!

A lovely setting. I always thought the fork was turned down in Europe.

Looks wonderful! What did you have?

This looks like a place to have a long, leisurely lunch. Don't eat too fast!

Lunch with a view! Excellent!

Brattcat beat me to the exact comment that I intended to leave. This looks like a setting for a leisurely lunch, not a quick lunch. A quick lunch is fast food.

By the way, a major cultural difference between the USA and Europe (as well as other parts of the world) is that in the USA, except in a few ultra fine dining restaurants, the meals are served more quickly and the check is brought to the table promptly after the last service. The restaurant and waiter want to turn the table. In Europe and elsewhere it seems that you often have to ask for the check, otherwise they will leave you sitting there on the assumption that you want to continue talking.

I love scenes like this; all the tables neatly set and waiting for customers.

Perfect place for lazy Sunday lunch:)

Your photographic skills continually amaze me, JM. This is such a hard shot to get right with all that backlight, but you did it perfectly.

I'd like to join you for lunch, if you don't mind?

Might take me a week or two to get there, though.

;-)

It seems to be a great place to dine in summer nights.

It seems to be that Chile follows what Dave said about Europe. Here you have to make signs to the waiter in order to get the check.

Bom dia querido amigo!

Great shot JM...I love the composition. Lots of glass and sparkles make this a very light-feeling photo.

Jacob is right, this is technically a very good shot in spite of the backlight.

So, what were they serving?

You've taken me there. I just want to read the menu, eat slowly and take in the view.

That looks like the perfect place to wind down.
