Hannibal Lecter?

No! Just an 18th century fountain needing urgent work in front of the Palace of the Counts of Oeiras, usually called Oeiras Palace.
The pillory is peeking in the background.

Can we see a close up of the figure in the center, between the two Lecter Lions? Or have you shown us that one already?

Yeah, pretty spooky. I hope the orthodontist steps up. How old is that anyway? MB

That is the first thing I thought of, too.

The first thing that came to my mind was: why does it have a crossbow in its mouth?

It looks like it would take a great deal of work to get back in shape but would be well worth the effort.

I saw the preview of that photo and first thing I though about... Hannibal Lecter.

I think they are probably fixing the fountain.

Certainly appears to have been around for a while but - still - look at those details of the second shot. A bit of renovation and she'll be as good as new for another century.

Wonderful and well found title!! :-)

Of course, you may ask why they could not put these "crossbows" at a slightly different place? Maybe humour not only by you? :-)
