Election season

There are a few old buildings at Oeiras downtown that seem to be falling apart FOR AGES! Suddenly these ''More houses for the youth on the historic district'' pannels 'were born' on each one of them, meaning they are going to be restored/rebuilt soon. Elections will take place next October... Is this a coincidence??? (Click to enlarge)

I love the "artistic" facade. I guess that has made them look a little tider while you wait for the election results.

Politicians are concerned with only one thing;getting reelected.

Good timing, yes.
It's always kind of scary to see just piled up stones behind a strong-looking facade.
Clever how they paint balconies on the tarp.

That phenomenon is seen all around the world. I remember some months ago before the municipal elections seeing different propaganda about future projects like more bicycle paths.

Regardless of any ulterior motives, it's always good to hear that old historic buildings are being restored.

Funny about politics isn't it. All that lovely blue tile work. It would be nice to see these crumbling buildings restored though. MB

In politics there are no coincidences only give and take which reaps certain benefits for those involved...

Glad to hear of the planned restoration, however.

But, one must always keep a politician's feet to the fire...for they get cold feet very quickly relative to prior promises once they have been elected.

I guess Politicians are the same everywhere!!!
But it may work out for the best!!!

Well now that's very cynical - fancy suggesting that politicians only do things if they think it will get them elected ... ! ;)

I guess I wouldn't believe improvements are coming until I saw it actually happening. A banner is just a campaign promise?

It's a shame the house in so neglected. I hope it will be restored.
Coincidence, well.... :)

Probably not a coincidence at all!

I left more information in the comments on my site to answer your questions.
