Great shot! When I was working in San Francisco, I used to see the effect quite often! I love the sailboat you captured in the center of this one.

Just a hint of a sailboat on an ethereal silver sea. Ahhh.

These clouds look like mountains:) Wonderful composition of the photo with shiny water and various shades of blue!

That is ominous looking. Imagine the fear of the old-time explorers if they had had to sail out toward that wall.

It's like someone rolled up a towel and laid it across the water.

This is a briliant, sparkling picture. It would be a nice spot to sit a and watch the clouds roll in.

Cloud barrier or cloud blanket! Super shot, JM. Interesting that Tapiral at Astoria, Oregon has a similar shot looking over the Columbia River...

This has such great light, too, and the boats make it perfect!

Is this looking west over the Atlantic?

Perfect composition, strange view. The image looks amazingly sharp.

Yes, Jabob, it's looking west.

Amazing cloud formation! If it weren't for your title, I don't think I would have noticed it though. The light over the water is so mesmerizing!
