Oeiras Mother Church

This church was first mentioned in historical documents dating back to the 16th century, but it was enlarged in 1777, so this is not its original look. Some interior details here.

Thanks for catching that fellow entering the building; gives an idea of the scale! Quite large. Your interior photos are fine, too. What's with the "no photo" rule?

It's a beautiful church, for sure!

It looks quite grand. The interior is beautiful and I wonder why photography is prohibited.

The church is beautiful. I'm generally not very keen on Baroque, but this one is nice.
By the way, I like your new main photo - it's superb!

A beautiful church both inside and out. There is a lot of history here. Don't you sometimes wish the walls could talk and relate stories from the past?

I have to use exposure compensation to get anywhere near this kind of sky in daylight shots. Well done.

What a lovely old church. I keep expecting the Father to walk round the corner any minute - his soutane flapping.

The deep blue of the sky make this a marvelous photo.

I didn't realize just how big it is until I noticed the guy about to enter. It's beautiful and very striking against that deep blue sky.
