An old favourite

This is one of my favourite buildings (early 20th century) at Avenida da Liberdade, the most beautiful and also the most polluted avenue in Lisbon... (Click to see the details)
My office used to be here on the first floor.

The facade appears to be very ornate. I'd love to see a close-up of some of the balconies and other aspects of the building.

I'm still having problems with my internet but hope to have it solved this week sometime. But, so sorry that I have missed so many wonderful photos of yours and other bloggers! Happy to be back, though, even if it's momentary!!

I think a person could stare at this building for days and still not see all the intricate detail here. What a masterpiece. How lucky you were so see it every day for the time your worked there.

What a grand lady she is. How could you do anything but love coming to work in such a building each day.

Did you really work in this building? It is magnificent, a pity that is in a polluted zone of the city, as you say.
Great new banner, I am thinking of changing ours with something like yours. I like your idea of changing it quite often...

extraordinary details & quite beautiful! i see why it's your favorite.

i was watching a program on tv last night about a permanent polluted cloud over asia that's 2 miles thick & is getting worse every year & it's expanding in height & width, so it's now over japan & headed out over the ocean

I can see why it is one of your favorite. It would make going to work much nicer to be going into a building as lovely as this one.

Not bad for an office!

Well, actually, there were lots of inconvinients working there! You could not keep windows open because of the traffic noise and also because of the black dust that covered everything! The huge curved windows made the rooms so hot in summer that it seemed I was working inside a greenhouse for cacti! Lol!You could not have the a/c boxes on the façade of the building, so it was a mess installing the system crossing the whole house to the back... But the interiors were gorgeous, the view was fantastic and I don't regret it! :-)

That is a lovely building. Great place to work but when seating inside you can't enjoy the exterior! You're best off outside it now!

Wow, it would have been great to work inside this buildings although as I've seen in the comments... probably it is just nice to visit it.

Ornately gorgeous, although I would guess it might need some updating...

Love the way you composed this!

I wonder what you mean by "polluted" avenue: a lot of traffic, smoke, and noise?

I hope your new office overlooks the ocean!

Ah, so it has its drawbacks.

But the outside is interesting, every floor different.
