What a perfect choice for the theme. Calder's art seems somehow out of place against such a historic building. I worked in Chicago for 2 1/2 years a few years back and there is a giant Calder similar to this one located in front of the post office building. But, that building itself was modern so it sort of fit right in.

A nice choice. Looks like something from a SciFi movie.

This is a real contrast and the poor Calder is outclassed by the glimpse of the Monastery.

I always prefered old historical buildings over modern art. Thanks for sharing.

The sculpture is OK. Good for theme day. But I do love that monastery!

! Who decided to plop it down there? Too much contrast for me. A picture just made for Theme Day.
Your Calder looks almost like ours. Are all his stabiles painted with "Calder red"?

interesting contrast in both style and color.

Wonderful contrast shot. Personally, I'd immediately remove the "art piece" (yup, I'm not a fan of modern art!) and enjoy the architectural wealth of the building behind it :)

Very good example of 'contrast'. It's so interesting to see your interpretation.
