Unique, and this shot as well as your other blog, has inspired me to buy myself a new plant each month..... Have not killed any yet. :-)

Nice red and green just at Christmas time.

Didn't know that. But for a winter photo, it's a bit different!

Your photo looks like a painting. Gorgeous.

That is so pretty! I don't think I have ever seen aloe bloom before.

There are many varieties and I pass a yard where someone made a huge hedge with it over on the cooler(Waimea)side. One things for sure besides using it for skin ailments..it works fabulously for an upset stomach.
(btw) I'm wondering what the rest of that 70's house looks like? The tile actually looks very tasteful- Have a great day-

I have a few aloes on my terrace, are those arborescens? I have a couple of variegata and several ferox of different sizes.

I am always interested in the aloes you photograph ... was never very aware of them until I followed your blog. Lovely composition and colours here.

I've never seen the aloe flowers. Two pleasures: beautiful photo and new knowledge about flora :-). Colors sing.

Exceptional balance, design and color. It looks like metal and enamel work.

Steffe is right. We could perhaps come up with some ice roses...

I first learnt that aloes flower when reading your blog. Lovely design to this flower. Similar (a bit) to the red hot poker that Lachezar from Auckland is showing today.

And look how brilliantly you've caught it. This is a striking composition.
