Santa Justa Elevator (II)

This is the opposite side of the structure shown on the pic I posted yesterday.
The small 'Céu de Lisboa (Lisbon Sky) Café' on top has the best view, but it's closed for winter...
São Jorge Castle stands in the background; it was conquered to the Moorish by King Afonso I in 1147.

Such a fantastic view! I had to enlarge it so I could see the castle! Such history!

How grand to dine there and look out at that view! Splendid.

Great shot-- I love the tower in shadow, and the city in light. It looks rather foreboding. What a history! Our oldest buildings here in the wild west are from the late 1800's!

What a beautiful view and you're lucky with the blue sky, here everything turns grey !!!

We have a painting in our dining room of one of the gates to St. George's castle, purchased from an artist on location. The elevator is indeed unique, and your photo shows the prominent position of the castle overlooking the city.

I didn't know about this elevator and its privileged view of the city. But I did appreciate nice panoramic views from Castelo São Jorge and the top of Torre de Belém!
God bless you!

Great view, you did well including the elevator itself.

Well, you answered my question of yesterday. Too bad the restaurant is closed during the winter. I wonder why that is.

But, this panoramic shot is delightful.
