Closed for holidays

To my Arizona readers: does this look familiar? :-)
Well it's just one of my favourite beach bars on the Sea Promenade.
I took this picture yesterday. Today it's colder, cloudy and rainy and one third of the country is under snow. The polar cold wave is hitting us now.

very interesting with the agave and palms. Where are we again? LOL

I love the tiles and the blue in a previous post. Gorgeous. MB

This does look familiar! This could be located anywhere in the southern Arizona area!
Thanks for the book recommendation, it sounds interesting.
For the last few days, the Phoenix area has been the warmest spot in the nation. Even Florida is getting some icy weather.

It's beautiful! That polar cold wave has been upon us for over a week now and I'm sick and tired of it!

The agave and palms could indeed be in Arizona (although palm trees, plentiful in Arizona, are not native to the desert). The wooden building and wooden railing, however, would not be found in Arizona, especially not with an unfinished look. The summer sun is too brutal for the wood to withstand for long.

Try to stay warm.

Hey, that could be Tucson, with the blue sky and plants. No ocean beach in Arizona though. I can see why this would be a favorite place to go.

David and MB, these are yuccas, not palm trees! :-))

No question this could be an Arizona scene, except for the unseen beach. No beaches in Arizona ... well, unless you count the ones on the man-made lakes.

I don't wish you a cold wave, but I don't think very many folks in the northern hemisphere are escaping it!

Even Portugal is lost to the cold! Better to think to this place as it was yesterday...

Is there really snow in Portugal? Your photo reminds me rather late spring here!

Snow?? Maybe you'd better have a hot toddy at that bar.

Interesting landscape with the yuccas...

Cold and snow ... now wonder the beach is empty ... but it still looks enticing.

yes JM, warm winter weather and agaves or yuccas. I love the warmth. Thanks for asking about my health, I am getting much better from my knee surgery. I am going to physical therapy twice a week and in another four weeks I should be as good as new. Or at least I better be. I will know if the surgery works when I start bending down and taking photos with my tripod. The lengths we go to as photographers to try and get that close up shot or take an image from a low angle on the ground. If you can believe it, when bending and using my tripod and taking all of the photos over the summer caused me great pain so I think the removal of the cartilage at the patella of the knee should work. I think photographers need to lift weights and go to yoga to stay in shape. Photography is a lot more physical than it looks.

Doesn't look like Portugal indeed !

It could also be Palm Springs, California. Nice shot!

Looks like a great place -- in one of the cm2 of Europe without snow!
