CDP Blogger's new arrest

Iranian security forces arrested Amir Sadeghi at the office of Farhang-e-Ashti newspaper for having published images of the violent security clampdown on protesters on Ashura (December 27, 2009) on his personal blog (tehranlive.org) and on the website Tehran24.

His War in Tehran streets on Ashura day photos have been deleted and the following message is what you see on the post instead:
''Looks like you have a problem here sir/madam. You sure you have the right place? Maybe you got a little lost? Maybe you're looking for something you're not supposed to find? Either way, just go search for it, it can't hurt.''

His Facebook profile page has also been deleted but his friend created a group on Facebook, so please join and show your support: Free Amir Sadeghi
Thank you

P.S. Gladly, a friend has previously saved the photos, so you can check them on the group page.

Yes, Hilda, this time he was not arrested just because he was protesting on the streets, which makes the situation look much more dangerous to me...

Here we go again. Just makes me sadder and sadder instead of angrier and angrier.

Tyrants are found all around the world in various guises. It appears that the ones who currently run Iran are becoming more frightened about their security and thus more desperate in their violence.

I keep hoping that as a species we might evolve ethically and morally as well as physically, and that's happened to some extent, but it's not been nearly enough.

Let's hope they don't torture our friend or worse, kill him as a message to other would-be dissenters!
