Once upon a time there was a fountain

''This fountain was made by the people of this place (*) with the permission of the Senate in 1736''
(*) ''this place'' would later be the town of Oeiras which actually is just 250 years old.

Too sad there isn't one any longer... Fountains are so meaningful!
God bless you!

From 1730, wow. Well, at least the written witness remains.

I'm guessing the fountain no longer functions anymore right, JM?

Still lovely though!

I love the word "just" before the 250.

Fascinating. I wonder who, exactly, is meant by the "people"?

That is amazing to know the birthplace of your city.

Get this: Stanwood was incorporated into a city 1903---founded in the late 1800s. We are just babies here. MB
