Lisbon has three train stations. This Neo-Manueline building dating back to 1886 is one of them.

Beautiful building. It reminds me of a wedding cake with it's layers and trim.
They just don't make grand old train stations like that anymore. Entering such a building adds excitement to the train journey.

That looks like an impressive place ... train stations these days are such utilitarian places ... but can still whisk us away to interesting places.
Goodness, this is another incredible building. It looks more like a cathedral than a train station with all that intricate carving.
