April Theme Day: RED

'Red Independent Heart' by Joana Vasconcelos
*
This HUGE heart is now part of a group of three hanging and rotating in a black circular room at the CCB. All hearts (red, golden and black) are made of twisted plastic forks and knives, based on the gold filigree pendant traditionally handicrafted in the city of Viana do Castelo, northern Portugal.

That is simply amazing. I would never have guessed the material in a million years. And it's very red, too!

What an intriguing sculpture. Like others I never would have guessed its material. The installation must be quite wonderful to visit.

What an absolute gem ! I think your photo is one of the best so far on today's theme. And how creative of the artist to use plastic knives and forks, I thought it was glass!
I hope the art piece withstands the test of time, it's the only thing that worries me!

Beautiful photo. I would not have guessed it was made of plastic serveware.

Very unique. I would never have guessed what they were made of.

How gorgeous and original-- our local artists are very into recycled objects as art, as well. Without anything else for scale, I'd assumed it was a macro of a necklace. This is just beautiful!

How absolutely beautiful and extraordinary to learn they are made of plastic cutlery. Amazing! beautiful shots.
