Vandalism (II)

I found this vandalized statue about one year ago and to my surprise it's even more damaged now. Check the difference by clicking here.

Isso me deixa triste...
Uma estátua tão bonita, representando maternidade e afeto, destruida assim...

Terrible to see such a wonderful, beautiful statue destroyed! Wish the thugs would go pound on a big rock on the side of a road instead!

A bit of a sad commentary on today's youth

This is such a tragedy! I will never understand what inspires someone to damage such beauty.

That's AWFUL! Why do people insist on doing such stupid thing?!!?!! Idiots all over the world - How old are the statues? I guess it doesn't really matter, because they weren't put there to be destroyed - they'll get what they deserve!!!

Like the others commenting, I'm sickened by this purposely destructive act. You have to wonder what these louts are thinking when they do this. Probably not thinking at all. Why doesn't the town move the statue to a safer place to preserve what is left?

Vandalism is something I just cannot understand. It serves no purpose and the idiots that do it are just that--IDIOTS. It just makes me so mad. And this beautiful statue that is harming no one is harmed. WHY!!! I get so mad. I will stop now before the page burst into flames. MB

I think it's a global saying: the mother of the stupids is always pregnant!

This kind of thing just makes me angry! Who the hell do the creeps who do this sort of thing think they are? And how do they get it into their pointy little heads that this is what they should do with their lives.

I think they should be caught but not put in jail...they should spend the next several years scrubbing, cleaning and repairing public monuments and buildings!

Oh my gosh, that's horrible. Your picture makes an impact - the nature of the statue (mother and son) being destroyed packs an even bigger punch too.

Wow, this sucks. No, not your photos - beautiful as always - but who would destroy such a lovely statue?
