Now that's the Portugal I know! I really found the tiles interesting when I visited there. Whatever gave the builders/designers/architects the inspiration?

@Joy: The portuguese were inspired by the moorish tile art who actually lived in the southern Iberian Peninsula before having been expelled in the 12th century.
