A Survivor


This Baroque statue of St. John Nepomucene was originally decorating the Alcantara Bridge destroyed by the big earthquake in 1755.

We have one still on a bridge but it is anything like this. A beautiful statue, I really like how you framed the first image.

Re your comment on Florida Fotos: The State of Florida bought the land from from J. T. Goethe in 1992, so named the forest after him. Maybe that was part of the deal?

I grin when you refer to the earthquake in 1755. Eastern Australia wasn't even a line on the map at that time.
