Memorial to those who have died fighting in the abhorrent Colonial War that lasted for thirteen years thanks to Salazar's dictatorship.
The fort walls in the background are covered with the countless names of the soldiers who lost their lives between 1961 and 1974

What an amazing series of photos...sharp and edgy angles make each one so interesting. There are far too many names on that wall...such a pity!
A wonderful contribution to Theme Day.
A fine memorial. And some great photos, perfect for the theme day.
Que idéia moderna!
O memorial é maravilhoso, lindo mesmo!!
Adorei a sequencia de fotos, como vc foi mostrando os reflexos e todo o memorial!

Beautifully shot and well chosen for the theme day, a day of reflection and of reflections.
A fitting tribute. A different take on reflections. A salute to all lost at war. MB
That is a very impressive memorial. I love how you've shown us so many angles.
What incredible architecture - so many angles, so much interest and those reflections for today. Fascinating.
That is an amazing memorial. The reflection picture is very abstract looking.
Not sure what happend to my picture today but I think I've fixed it.
Powerful! And I agree re: abhorrent! Super shots, JM! Great colors and reflections!
A great reflective photo series of an important memorial! Good to reflect on those things. I think I see you in the top photo...
Great shots JM
The first image has a wonderful abstract quality to it - beautiful lines and shapes. Nice series here.

Absolutely superb JM.
An awesome building and a great reflection.
This reflection post includes more than just the obvious physical reflection. We must also reflect on war and the consequences it brings. Very nice choice for the theme day!
What a beautiful memorial and a great interpretation for today's reflections!
Unique and artistic memorial place. Pretty and a bit BLUE. I like it!!
Very striking pictures and memorial. Much more creative than a bronze soldier. It is a shame that humankind has not advanced to a point where all such memorials are for injustices and tragedies that occurred centuries ago, not within our lifetime.
WHOOOOAAA, that top one has me dizzy and confused. I like seeing the whole piece but I still don't know how you took this. GREAT entry today JM! Love this.

The first photo is a powerful deconstruction of an already emotionally moving site.
That first photo is so crazily disorienting, I love it. The list of names, though, is absolutely sad.
Like the totally lines abstraction of the first and the composure of the other two.
The top shot is very complex to decipher.
So many names. So sad.
But the memorial is very nice.
Two kinds of reflection here..
perfect choice.
