A strong sculpture. I'm trying to figure out the combination of Chinese and Columbian artists - do you know how this came to be? Interesting since the sculpture looks to be of political orgin so I'm wondering how these two cultures presented their exhibit.
@T.Becque and Sharon: The two artworks are part of the Berardo Collection (Joe Berardo is a portuguese nouveau riche, actually a millionaire...). I believe this is nothing else but just a clever combination of both.
I was wondering why something like this was in a Portuguese museum...
It's a powerful statement, I suppose, as to the role of the "worker" in some societies. The irony is that the worker almost always got screwed in those societies. The only ones who made out were the party elite; unless they were exiled or killed.

What is he holding? A paint-brush, brother-artist? Looks very goal-seeking
une belle statue, toute en energie
powerful shot.
That is a very powerful sculpture. What interests me is the combination of Chinese and Columbian artists. What vastly different cultures.
Has a communist feel to it. Must be an interesting exhibition.
This is a massive sculpture. I like it.

Nice angle, but I thought they stopped to do thing like these well before I was born!
Very impressive, wonderful sculpture and I'm curious about the words in that mural!

Wonderful sculpture and photo JM. If it weren't for the paint brush, he'd would easily be taken for a cricketer with that stance.
nice sculpture :)
A great pose and I feel the same a Mo. Very Unionistic too. Interesting. MB
Looks very communist ... interesting for that reason.
Like those before me said, very powerful.
whoa,
Like this monolithic style, it reminds me of certain sculpture I seen in Moscow.
