@Violet Sky and Francisca: If there was a kind of entranceway in the good old days, I'm sure it would be wooden and massive. This is new, I still remember the previous 'bridge' for visitors which was, in fact, nicer than this.

Another of your exciting compositions, Jose. The light is gorgeous and their is a sense of vibrancy to the scene. I think it's the people making their way across that little bridge. Of course the tower is magnificent, too.
Oh, re: Charity Ministries: This outfit is not Catholic and would be insulted by the thought they would hold "masses." It's a fundamentalist Christian group holding the typical views -- that the Bible is inerrant in all aspects and one must be "saved" to get into heaven, etc.
I like your composition on this one as well. Love how old it is with all that history! I looked at your previous post, the place looks small but grand at the same time.

I'd somehow expect the bridge to be a little more substantial for such a tower. Never mind, it gets you inside!

I can only think that this bridge to this spectacular tower is a much later addition to accommodate tourists.
Beautiful building. I think I would be in awe of the building that I would'nt have paid too much attention to the walk way.

There are a lot of people using this bridge to this historic sight. I love how your photo shows just a slice of this building.

I have not traveled much outside Europe, but I still remember this tower as one of the most beautiful places I have seen.

A very nice bridge. I have been to Belem, Brazil, but never Belem, Portugal.
In fact, I've never been to Portugal at all. :( But I hope to get there one day. :)
The Belem Tower is incredibly beautiful and old, and this bridge adds such charm.
