August Theme Day: Bright Colours

When I thought of bright colours Miró's pantings immediatly came to my mind so I went to the current exhibition at the Oeiras Cultural Center but, once more, taking photos was not allowed; therefore this was the only way of doing it without getting caught.

Perfect JM! Hope they don't look at your blog! ;-)

Well, JM, having Miro paintings in Oeiras must mean it is quite a significant town, small notwithstanding! And stolen or not, this is a nicely framed photo.

Hee! I'm glad you got the "illegal" photo. I like the blues. I've always admired those azula tiles. Great choice for the theme day.

That's OK, this way we get a tile and beautiful door bonus, in addition to the Miro.

How lucky your are to have this exhibit. I would love to see his work in person.

Unique perspective framing such unforgettable works.
Like the combination of this cold tones with the warm Mirò's paints.

That's good, I like the tiles better than the paintings anyway!

It is enough to appreciate them and the beautiful door even enhance the effect.

Very clever, JM!

Perhaps if such places would allow photos even more people would be interested in visiting them, don't you think?
God bless you!

You are one sneaky and colorful character...but that seems to be a trait among CDP's! ;-)

Hey, if it works!

But doesn't it hurt pretending to tie your shoe while bending over backward with a camera hidden in the palm of your hand which is nudged into the curve of your shin just to take this shot?

:-)

Miro is a perfect choice and the photo is perfect!

Your need to sneak a photo created a composition better than a photo of the paintings would have been.

I just discovered a blog by a guy who for two years has been walking the entire length fo the Amazon River. He is about 9 days from the end. On a recent post he talked about encountering the former clearing for the path of old electrical lines to a town called Oeiras.

I pass this along, as I don't know if you were aware that there is a town in the jungle of Brazil named after your town.

JM, you would really enjoy reading about his journey and seeing his photos at www.walkingtheamazon.com.

Well done!! Sometimes it is worth taking a risk.
Old and new art at a very pretty place.
I like the composition too.

You artistic rebel! Despite the undercover nature of your assignment, you pulled off a beautifully framed and lighted photo. Kudos.

I like this just the way you have it portrayed. Excellent.
And of course the blue tiles are so wonderful too. MB

Well JM, I was just going to fuss with you about not getting me closer to the master's work. I do love Miró! But now that I know you risked life and limb for us, I'll be satisfied with this lovely composition and a fine, fine entry for our theme day.
Merci,
V

Good creative framing you came up with for the situation! It's nice because it gives us a picture of what you see rather than just the paintings themselves.

I'm glad you got this picture at least!

Great theme day post!

I definitely like this composition better than if you had just taken a photo of one painting. It wouldn't be Oeiras without gorgeous tiles! ;)

And that doorway is magnificent! And huge!

I like Miro's work ... something to do with his name I guess :-)
