I can't stop looking at this photo. Something about it!

Our Lady of the Light, nice name. I've not heard that one.

Looks like they are doing some repair work.

I like the name too. That fort looks so much like the one in St. Augustine, Florida.

A very impressive wall and I think the light enhances the historic look.

I hope that they are not building something with that crane that will detract from the view of the fort.

In Phoenix, Arizona, last Thursday, some protesters of the state's new immigration law climbed out on a crane like that and hung a banner from it, before they lowered themselves to the street and were arrested for trespassing on the crane. Very dangerous, but photos of the banner and the protesters made the newspapers and TV news.

I can't imagine such age! It makes me want to touch it. Beautiful shot.

Looks like she has withstood some years. Still looking young though.

Very impressive - and it's nice to see the restoration work going on. Don't you know the people who built it would have liked to have had cranes like the modern one in the photo to help them build the fort?!

Excellent image. The geometry of the lines is intriguing and the light is something different from the usual tones of dusk.

Light is amazing in this photo!

I don't suppose they used a crane to build the fort. Interesting juxtaposition of ancient and modern.

I wonder how many thundering blows this old wall has taken and how much violence it has seen down through the years. Looks like it is being renovated which is a good thing...we need to keep the past in our conscious in order to try to do better in the present and future.

It seems strange to me to see tht lovely old fort with the modern crane next to it.

Like some of the others, I wonder what the original builders of this wall would have thought of that crane.

The history and age of this astounds me! It would be so wonderful to be around history like that!

Impressive wall. The work involved in building that all those years ago, wow.

My goodness, I cannot even imagine something that old and still standing. What a beautiful wall it is. I hope it is around another 500 yrs. MB

Normally I would get upset to see a modern crane in my shot like this... but here it works just right. Great angles, JM.
