A Very Windy Day

Cliffs at Parede
I have no idea how old this cross is but I'm sure someone died here, I've seen flowers on its pedestal more than once.

I hope the person didn't die by being blown over the cliff. That sea looks very choppy.
Beautiful colors.

You know I love the beautiful blue sea and sky. I think I say that every time you post a photo of the sea. I like the color contrast between the cross and the sea, bold.

Makes a lovely picture - it's a nice way of commemorating whoever died, but it's a sad thought that someone fell or maybe even jumped.

Weird to say but...
...looks like a nice place to die. (?!?!?!?!?)
God bless you!

JM, what a great photo of contrasts: the brush, the cross, the blues of sky and sea, the white foam line of the speedboat, and the sailboat in the distance. Love it!

The elements of the photo are separated so well with geometric lines.

A wonderful final resting place. I love the blue of the water. Marvelous shot. MB

there are so many elements in this photo. The cross looks like it has been there for a very long time and the water is so blue! I love the tiny white caps I see on the water.

A good spot for reflecting on the lives of the departed, and the magnitude of the sea. Looks like a great day for sailing as well.

Wonderful post for the day, JM! What a beautiful cross and it does look very old. It would be interesting to know it's history. Superb capture as always and I do love that vivid blue water! Enjoy!

A sad contrast with the people having fun on the boats at sea. Wonderful and thoughtful image, the grey and the blue are stunning.

Yes, I agree with VP, lots going on in this photo. And I too was drawn to the gorgeous contrasts in colors and textures.

Como não tenho o teu endereço de email, e porque tem muito interesse, aqui tens um link dum pequeno filme, datado de 1906, que vais adorar, filmado 4 dias antes do terramoto que destruiu S. Francisco

This is a gorgeous place to be buried! I'd visit even if I didn't know him/her just for the magnificent view.

Beautiful in its simplicity

The austere simplicity of this image is so beautiful ... a totally different beauty to the ornate arch in yesterdays post. Isn't it wonderful the variety of beauty in this world.
