Terreiro do Paço

Partial view of Lisbon biggest square built after the great earthquake (1755).
King José I is at the center of the square; the Castle, almost hidden by the pine trees, stands in the background.

My word that whole scene is astounding. It is a huge square. Wow they just don't make them like they used to. MB

What a beautiful square! Your photo gives us such a wonderful view. I'd love to be walking with those people and taking in the view.

It is such a wonderful square! My best memory from my first trip to Lisboa in 85, on a Interrail trip through Europe

I've heard of painters going to different places because of the light. I tend to think that the sun shines the same everywhere, but this picture makes me think, perhaps not. The light you captured in this photo is not the same as what I see living here. I love light and air and water!

What a bright and shining example of what humanity may be capable of. That square is so inviting even as it is so imposing. Your depth of field has really caught its essence. Love the lemon tones on the buildings. I feel as if I could take a leisurely walk right into that vast space and go about my day.
