It must once have been so beautiful, lived in and cared for. How sad.

Number 16 could use a little rehab. Well, maybe some big rehab.

It is like this photo want to tell a story...
Still many beautiful details at the place.

What a shame...look at that beautiful balcony gone to rot...in fact this place looks infested with water and the resulting mold and mildew...probably should be bulldozed?

They are like people: born, lived, gone.

This is a marvelous and a brave photo. I have been thinking lately that many posts -- including mine -- look like we are cheerleaders for our cities. We overlook plainness and hide ugliness. I haven't resolved for myself whether to feature problems. You did it today in a thoughtful way. I need to continue thinking . . .

I don't see this as sad, but as beautiful and with a story to tell. Just as I don't see old people as sad or in need of renovation. Age and decay have a beauty of their own and need to be celebrated.

Love the balcony, easy to imagine it neatly painted, before the rust. What a pity for these buildings...
