Decay (XVI)

Small patio of a very old house at downtown Oeiras
A huge sign hiding the beautiful tiled façade says it's about to be restored. The sign is there for almost two years.

cour intime, avec une histoire et surement des secrets, j'aimerais bien visiter la maison pour des photos des souvenirs

Restoration must have been delayed. I must say that the little patio has a lot of character.

Ah, restoration is slow to come! Hope they do get around to it. Lovely looking place even now! And a terrific shot as always!

Une vraie cour, à l'ancienne ... Bel endroit !

budget is hard to come by nowadays, i'm afraid the sign would still be there for years to come.

you captured it beautifully here.

If they don't get going on the restoration, the sign will need restoration as well!

I have seen many of those signs around here. I hope some day they will be saying the truth!

I like your Decay series - alway try to imagine how it could look like after renovation:)

Still thinking about how to tackle it...but it would make a lovely home.

Well I hope it really does get restored. It's beautiful.

Okay, so 'doucement' was a bit of a joke. It is freezing! :-) Bon weekend JM!

"About to be..." can mean different things to different people...perhaps they left off the rest of the sentence, "About to be in 2020"?

Amazing how rapidly things deteriorate. Well, they do in Florida. And usually anyplace that is near an ocean.

I'll bet this was a delightful place at one time.

This is the best of our decay series yet. I absolutely love it. One wonders if the restoration will be an improvement on this aged beauty.

I would like to be right there, right now. Quiet, peaceful.

Fabulous photo, love your framing! It's quite a charming place.
Oh, and I'm amazed that I taught you something about plants (the nursing tree)! :)

Well it seems to have lots of potential. I am surprised that squatters haven't taken over. Let's hope the 'restoration' speeds up and not the decay. MB

Yeah yeah, any minute now . . .

I love this poetic patio with a perfect light and a suggestive frame.

When I look at this beautiful shot it looks like it could have been from a film.

It's always a question of money, isn't it...?
