I have birds of paradise outside my front door now! It's cold in the surrounding mountains, but on the valley floor it will be in the 80's this week! It always amazes me to see flowers in winter as I'm originally from across the country where we got 4 seasons and a full on winter. Exquisite shots!

So different from all the snow pictures I am seeing on the other blogs! These are beautiful JM.

Thank for these gorgeous colors, we need all of them with the grey winter so close.

Actually it's 20ºC and heavy showers now. A strong tornado hit central Portugal causing some awful devastation for more than 30 kms. It seems unbeliavable that no one has died. Can you believe a tornado here?

I've got both of those in my garden. The ginger is wonderfully fragrant.

It amazes me to see these. Your area looks dry, like mine, but it can support plants like this.

Bird of paradise - I've only ever seen these in stylish florists' shops. It looks fantastic growing.

Gorgeous flowers, and a fun place to visit today. I grew up with birds of paradise in the back yard, and I always like to see them.

Beautiful!!
I love that Ginger. Always had some in the greenhouse but alas they don't last too long here. MB
