The Parliament

Also known as São Bento Palace, Lisbon

The original building was a monastery dating back to the 16th century. Many transformations took place over the centuries and in 1834 the Portuguese Parliament was installed here.

Magnificent building and fantastic captures as always! Not sure if they were taken late or very early, but whatever, the timing was perfect for the skies and lights! Enjoy your weekend!

I am sorry I missed this at the time, an impressive and elegant palace. Even our parliament was something of ecclesiastic use before,

The first word that comes to my mind is majestic! It exudes strength and power. I hope it's inhabitants are not as stupid and ignorant as are many of our representatives and senators!

@Jacob: Actually this place is full of liars and incompetent people who, unfortunately, have the power to rule our lives!...

This is a fantastic building and a nice photo.
It also reminds me of the palace (slottet) in Oslo.
have a nice weekend!

Majestic .. yes that is the word ... even if the creatures it houses aren't.
